Kadarka

About

Kadarka (kah-dark-a), red grape used as the principal flavor behind Hungary’s “Bull’s Blood of Eger” wine dating back to the 1700s.

Kadarka formed in 2006 as a 4-piece original hard rock band in the Hartford, Connecticut region. As with many bands, it took time to find the right combination of players with the
same musical beliefs and goals. Determined to stay true to their love for the art of music, Kadarka focused on writing and performing original music. With lyrics influenced by
real-life experiences and music that adopted the riffs and beats from classic bands such as Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith to more current acts like Pearl Jam and Local H, Kadarka’s
sound can only be described as heavy, hard-edged, and haunting. Striving to bring music back to the days when the song mattered more than the individual musicians, Kadarka
embraced group spirit with a pub-wrecking here-we-are attitude. The band was: Gary (vocals), Eric (guitars), Justin (drums), Jeff (bass).

Active on the club scene from 2007-2012. Highlights from those gigs include playing the main stage at The Webster Theater and opening for LA Guns.

During that same time, Kardarka released a 5-song self-titled EP. Their song Visionary saw regular rotation on WCCC’s weekly Homegrown show. In addition, Gary & Eric
released a 14-song acoustic CD titled Unplugged.

Kadarka disbanded in 2013 as each member of the band decided to pursue other goals.

Now, 10+ years later, Eric is bringing Kadarka out of hiatus. Who will be involved, when will new music be released, will there be any live shows …… hopefully those answers
will come in 2024. Stay tuned!
